Before you begin

Sign in using the account registered for your organization. The features and data you can see depend on your account membership and permissions.

The active account matters: chats, inventory, documents, measurements, invoices, and settings are scoped to it. Always check the active account before uploading files or starting an analysis.

Check the active account

The active account name appears below your user name in the top-right corner.

To switch accounts:

  1. Open Admin in the left navigation.
  2. Select Accounts.
  3. Find the account you want under My Accounts.
  4. Select the Switch to account button with the two-arrow icon.
  5. Confirm that the account now has the Active label.
  6. Check the account name in the top-right corner before continuing.

Changing accounts changes the working context. A conversation or file from one account is not automatically available in another.

Use the main navigation

Home / Chat

Use Home / Chat for the active conversation. This is where you ask questions, upload invoices, receive explanations, and work with generated charts or tables.

A conversation retains its own context. Keep related follow-up questions together, but start a new chat when you change to an unrelated task or a different analytical scope.

New Chat

Select New Chat when you want a clean context. This is useful when:

  • changing from one site to another,
  • starting a separate investigation,
  • testing a different assumption, or
  • preparing an analysis for another purpose.

Chat history

Open Chat history to locate and resume earlier conversations. Select the relevant chat rather than recreating a previous investigation from memory. See Manage conversations and chat history for the complete workflow.

Documents

Use Documents for contracts, audit reports, technical documentation, spreadsheets, and other reference material. Uploaded files must be indexed successfully before Vega can reliably use their contents.

Inventory

Inventory shows the sites in the active account. From here you can:

  • search by name, owner, address, or tag,
  • connect supported data sources,
  • open a site,
  • inspect components and health,
  • review or trigger synchronization, and
  • edit user-maintained site details.

Measurements

Use Measurements when you want to inspect recorded values directly. It is especially useful for confirming whether a period contains data before asking Vega for a comparison or chart.

Event Log

The Event Log contains detected events and issues. Use it to understand when something occurred and then continue the investigation in Chat if more explanation is needed.

Tariffs

Tariffs opens the tariff information available to the active account. The contents depend on the account’s country and configuration.

Admin and System Admin

Expand Admin to reach the user-facing areas available to you:

  • User profile contains your profile information, two-factor authentication settings, and personal favorite questions.
  • Accounts lists your memberships and lets you switch the active account.
  • Display contains chart and presentation preferences.
  • Sentinels shows the automated detector rules configured for the active account when your permissions allow it. Their findings appear in asset Health and the Event Log; see Review measurements, asset health, and events before interpreting them. System Log exposes account monitoring records to authorized users.

Only change settings you are responsible for.

The separate System Admin area is not part of normal user workflows and is intentionally outside these guides.

On a phone or other narrow screen, select the menu button in the top-left corner. The mobile menu currently provides:

  • Home,
  • New Chat, and
  • Chat history.

The rest of the data-preparation workflow—including Inventory, Documents, Measurements, and Admin—is intended for a larger screen.

Work with notifications

The bell icon in the top-right corner opens notifications. The guide Work with notifications and contextual investigations explains how notifications connect to Chat.

  1. Select the bell.
  2. Review unread notifications first.
  3. Open a notification to see its details.
  4. Use its action to continue in the relevant contextual chat when available.
  5. Confirm that the chat refers to the expected site or component.

Notifications help you find issues; they do not replace checking the underlying measurements and asset health.

Change the interface language

  1. Select your user menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Language.
  3. Choose a language from the list.
  4. Allow the page to reload with the selected interface language.

Changing the interface language affects labels and presentation. It does not translate original source documents or change the underlying measurement data.

A safe navigation routine

Before any substantial analysis:

  1. Verify the active account.
  2. Open Inventory and confirm the intended site.
  3. Check Measurements or the component’s Measurements tab for the required period.
  4. Check Documents if the question relies on a contract or report.
  5. Start or resume the appropriate conversation.
  6. State the site, asset, and time period explicitly in your question.

If expected data or a feature is missing, first confirm the active account. If the account is correct, check data readiness or contact the person responsible for access and data connections.
