Asking Vega and investigating energy performance

Decide whether to continue or start again
Continue the current conversation when a new question depends on the same site, components, period, or previous result. Vega can use earlier messages to understand follow-ups such as “break that down by day.”
Select New Chat when you:
- start an unrelated investigation,
- change to a different facility or business decision,
- want a clean comparison without earlier assumptions, or
- prepare an answer for a different audience.
Do not use a long conversation as a substitute for an explicit scope. Repeat important @ references, dates, and units when a mistake would matter.
Find a previous conversation
- Select Chat history in the left navigation.
- Expand Search in chat history if it is collapsed.
- Search using words from the title, an invoice identifier, or a date.
- Review the Messages, Created, and Last columns.
- Select the conversation row to reopen it.
- Read the latest turns before continuing so you know which scope and assumptions are active.
Search filters the conversations currently loaded. If the expected item is older, select Load more and search again. Multiple search terms must all match the conversation’s searchable details.
Use clear titles
Vega generates a short title after the first question and answer. A specific first question therefore makes chat history easier to scan.
To rename a conversation:
- Open Chat history.
- Select the title cell in the required row.
- Enter a concise title that includes the site, subject, and period where useful.
- Save the inline edit.
For example:
Main Warehouse — August 2026 invoice reconciliation
Renaming changes the label, not the messages or analytical results.
Reopen invoices associated with a conversation
The Invoices column shows invoice files associated with the chat:
- Select the file icon when one invoice is present.
- When several invoices are present, select the numbered control to reveal them, then select a file icon.
- Hover over an invoice control to review available provider, invoice number, date, customer, and total information.
If the source file is available, Vega opens it in a new browser tab. For the import and verification workflow, see Upload and manage energy invoices.
Save useful questions as favorites
Hover over one of your messages in Chat:
- Select the star to add or remove it from My favorites.
- Select the pin to add or remove it from account favorites when you are allowed to maintain shared questions.
As you type the beginning of a saved question in a later chat, Vega offers up to five matching personal and account favorites. Select a suggestion, or use the arrow keys and Enter, then edit its site and period before sending.
Manage your personal list under Admin > User profile > My favorite questions. Personal favorites are available across every account you use. Shared account questions are managed in the account settings by authorized users.
Delete a conversation
- Open Chat history on a desktop or laptop.
- Find the conversation and verify its title and last activity.
- Select the red Delete action.
- Confirm that the row disappears.
Deletion removes the stored conversation from chat history. It does not delete separately stored invoices, documents, sites, or measurements. Copy any result you must retain before deleting the chat.
Contextual conversations
An Ask AI action from a Health or PV Performance page opens a conversation beside that page. Closing the panel does not delete the conversation. You can reopen it from Chat history, or use Open as full page after it has been saved.
Context helps Vega begin with the relevant status or KPI, but you should still verify the assets, period, and evidence before acting.
